چکیده
Objectives Interoception refers to the sensation, interpretation, and integration of internal somatic signals. Abnormalities in self-reported interoception are prevalent features major depressive disorder (MDD) may affect treatment outcomes. In present study, we investigated psychometric properties revised eight-dimensional 37-item Multidimensional Assessment Interoceptive Awareness questionnaire (the MAIA-2) a severely depressed sample, after translating two updated scales (Not-Distracting, Not-Worrying) into German. Specifically, examined measure’s consistency reliability, sensitivity change, minimal important differences (MID) with focus on patient’s antidepressive responses treatment. Methods The study enrolled 110 participants (age: M = 46.85, SD 11.23; female: 55.45%) undergoing hospital treatment, whom 87 were included pre-post analysis. Participants completed German translation MAIA-2 Beck Depression Inventory-II (pre-/post-treatment). Internal reliability was determined by Cronbach’s ? /McDonalds’s ? , change effect sizes, MIDs distribution- (0.5* ) anchor-based approaches (mean method; ROC curve cut-points). Results severity reduced over course (Median -65.22%), 34.48% patients achieved remission. Reliability appropriate for post-treatment (range : .70-.90), but questionable pre-treatment (Noticing: .64; Not-Distracting: .66). eight dimensions sensitive (standardized response mean: .32-.81; Cohen’s size: .30-.92). Distribution-based (.38-.61) mean (remission vs. partial response: .00-.85; nonresponse: .08-.88) established group level. For six scales, cut-points (remission: .00–1.33; -.20–1.00) demonstrated accurate classification groups individual Conclusions This applicability MDD. version have led improvements regarding subthreshold evident prior change. that corresponded Our findings consistent growing area research which considers feelings as key contributors mental health.

The Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness (MAIA)
This paper describes the development of a multidimensional self-report measure of interoceptive body awareness. The systematic mixed-methods process involved reviewing the current literature, specifying a multidimensional conceptual framework, evaluating prior instruments, developing items, and analyzing focus group responses to scale items by instructors and patients of body awareness-enhancin...
متن کاملP05.61. The multidimensional assessment of interoceptive awareness (MAIA)
Purpose Body awareness and interoceptive awareness are closely related constructs proposed to mediate the health benefits of mind-body therapies, e.g. mindfulness meditation, yoga, Tai Chi, Feldenkrais and others. By integrating psychological and neuroscientific concepts with experiential phenomenology and by distinguishing multiple dimensions, contradictory construct interpretations are clarif...

The multidimensional assessment of interoceptive awareness (MAIA) is an instrument designed to assess interoceptive awareness. The aim of this study was to adapt the original MAIA scale to Spanish and to analyze its psychometric properties in a Chilean population. The MAIA was administered to 470 adults, aged 18-70 years, 76.6% women and 23.4% men, residents of the provinces of Valparaíso and C...

متن کاملPsychometric Evaluation and Norms for the Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness (MAIA) in a Clinical Eating Disorders Sample.
Altered interoceptive awareness (IA) has been implicated in the pathophysiology of eating disorders; however, few comprehensive self-report measures of IA exist in eating disorders. The present study sought to validate the Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness (MAIA), originally developed to assess IA in individuals practicing mind-body therapies, in an eating disorder sample. ...
